Bedtime Conversations
Tonight, as I was doing our bedtime routine with my daughter, I was thinking about how precious these times really are. We chatted about her friends at church, her pretty new dress she wore today, dressing up like a princess and visiting "Gamma" tomorrow. We talked about the dark, night sky and why it isn't scary. We talked about the choo choo we heard in the distance. We prayed for baby Judah. She asked to snuggle a little longer on my lap before she climbed into bed. I willingly obliged. And I just can't help but truly treasure these simple little conversations. We didn't talk about anything deep or significant, but for us it was precious. I love that her world is so much simpler than mine. I know it won't stay that way forever, but I am so grateful for the time to build a relationship with her (talking about dresses, trains & grandparents) so that hopefully I can be of some help in guiding her through the more complicated things in life. But for now...kissing cheeks, singing lullabies & giggling with my daughter is more than fine with me. I am so thankful for the opportunity to know & cherish this precious life up close and personal. What a tremendous gift that I do not deserve! Grace at it's finest.
